Sandi Mckenna My TV Mentor & Cash Cab's Ben Bailey

Sandra McKenna was my husband’s friend before she became my friend. She worked with him and was so good at what she did that he would scream out her name in the middle of the night. She had this idea that I should be on TV doing “Manners Minutes” segments and made sure it happened. Actually, I don’t think I had a choice in the matter, because when Sandi decides to do something, it’s a done deal.

We became fast friends with her telling me the way things were going to be and thank God I was so afraid of her that I listened as she pushed me into the life I had secretly dreamed of. She worked with me just as she did with my husband, demanding all hands on deck and that they bring their best game to the table.

I will forever be grateful that she led me, or should I say shoved me, into a better life for myself. I am thankful to Sandi for changing the course of my life with her vision, creativity, hard work, and humor. She has made a wonderful difference in my life and also in the lives of each and every person that stands in her space for longer than 5 seconds.

Six things about Sandi:

  • She loves Red Velvet cake.
  • She got a speeding ticket while driving with Tony Danza.
  • She has an eight piece service set of Versace China that she bought at a garage sale.
  • She was in Parade Magazine with her multigenerational family who all live under one roof.
  • She is a native New Yorker that is scared senseless of wildlife. Once she saw a deer while on an early morning jog. She quipped, “If that were a mugger, I would have known what to do, but that deer just kept staring at me with its big eye.”
  • She is in California this week with her partner, Rick Griffin, having amazing meetings with incredible people for their company, Midlife Road Trip. Check them out at www.midliferoadtrip.com.
