Patricia and Matchbox Twenty

It was so amazing meeting Rob Thomas and the Matchbox Twenty posse at The Capital Theater, Clearwater, Florida. I learned how sweet they are and I am triple happy about their success.

The way they interacted with the audience, support crew, and administration seemed to pull everyone together for the sweet goal of a shared experience. Everyone felt like they were part of the show, not just a bystander. I most loved how Rob supported the opening act local Florida singer/songwriter, Emily Kopp.

Business and social etiquette always yield success in more ways than one.
Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas were the upper management—the higher ups to the opener—yet they reached up, across, down, and sideways doing all they could to put Emily Kopp at ease, while giving her tiny deposits of encouragement. Rob Thomas even tweeted about Emily twice after the show sharing her talent with all his fans. He took it the extra mile, such a small gesture that yields huge results for a budding artist and her hopes and dreams.

. Building relationships with all people regardless of their status is smart. We all come with own tribe of folks who love and support us. If I am good to you, you will refer me to all your best friends and business colleagues and vice versa. And our tribes will grow.

One of the big secrets to Rob Thomas and Matchbox Twenty’s success is that they are thoughtful and build long lasting relationships through respect and encouragement. They brought it with their talent, energy and willingness to give 100% for a successful show, but the real success was witnessed by me in the moments when no one could see them.
