The outcome of you honoring their wisdom with action is often different and better than you hoped and imagined. I was told to build a blog, write an ebook and send out a monthly Business Etiquette newsletter. Doing those things seemed like asking a fish to strap on a pair of pumps, trudge through sand in a hail storm while singing “Who Let The Dogs Out.”
One magical day I sent out a newsletter, while rolling my eyes, and it landed on the iPhone screen of an accountant who was at lunch with a major publishing house director. They then went to my blog which then yielded an email to my inbox that said do you have a book idea. I said, Oh yes! I have already written one..it’s in Ebook form. The next thing I know I am on a plane headed to New York City’s Flatiron Building to meet the editors of St. Martins Press.

So my hope is that you will do the crazy things that successful people tell you to do. It’s always, always, always going to be difficult and probably the thing you most detest, struggle with and stink at! But do it anyway because it will lead to the things that you LOVE to do. And I can promise you with every cell in me, when you take one bold step… the world rewards you in ways that your heart can barely hold.
