Business Travel Etiquette

Business Travel Etiquette

Here are some simple rules for business travel etiquette.

  1. Dress To Impress. Our attire makes a statement about how we respect our own personal brand and the brand of our corporation, customers, clients and colleagues. We should dress as if we’re headed to a business meeting. One thing we should never wear in tight spaces is fragrance.
  2. Cell Civility. Think short, sweet, and discreet when making calls on your mobile phone in crowded areas. No loud and lengthy diatribes or dissertations. A simple, wheels down safe and sound is sufficient. Better yet text, snap, or Instagram your message.
  3. Duffel Shuffle. We know you packed your piano in there, so please be careful of side swiping fellow passengers faces and/or funny bone when moving down the aisle with your luggage. Make sure to stow the bag in the overhead bin near your seat, not closer to the front.
  4. The Boarding Area isn’t our Living Room. Please make sure to use only one seat when waiting for your flight, being mindful not to sprawl out over 3 or 4 with your body and/or belongings. Also, remember to relinquish your seat to an elderly or disabled person if there aren’t any other seats available.
  5. Last but not least.. Middle Seat Manners. Be grateful you aren’t in it. This means giving grace, latitude, and all rights to both armrests for the individual who is.

Following these simple rules for business travel etiquette will leave all those you encounter with a positive impression of you.
