Thank You Note Etiquette:
This note made my day. it was unexpected, gave me feedback, and put a kick in my step.
No matter what, no matter where , or when…we all like to receive positive feedback.
I preach and teach the importance of the hand written note because it’s visual, tactile, and emotional.
It also takes time to write it, and we all appreciate the value of someone taking the time to value us.
When walking back to the door of my office with my stack of mail in hand. I always pluck out the personal mail.
I phoned Darcy and thanked her for her note. We talked about our summer, the storm that was coming our way, and friends we thought we had in common. A new relationship was developed because of 3 minutes, a stamp, and a folded Thank You Note. I intend to continue my 3 to 5 notes a week ritual, sent out to people that made a difference in my life. There are many when you stop and take notice. It should only take 3 to 4 minutes for each note from start to finish~3 to 4 lines, address & stamp, put it in the mailbox. Repeat!
